One June day in 1923, Waterloo in the 1950s, Airstrip One and the Circus. London in the twentieth century.
A set of four Penguin Clothbound Classics, chosen by Mr Books to sit together on a shelf. Each cover has its own pattern, so side by side they look like a set. They are bound in cloth and not paper, with the design stamped on in foil. Each one has coloured endpapers and a ribbon bookmark. They were designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith, who took her inspiration from Victorian bookbinding. They make beautiful presents, and a set makes a better one.
In this set
- Mrs Dalloway
- The Lonely Londoners
- Nineteen Eighty-Four
- Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
